THE BACKGROUND

Moods, more often than not, are achieved by default – governed by changes in external context. Mood modulation embraces the notion of “Mind-Body-Spirit,” where different mood states are achieved through internal alterations across multiple modalities – mental, physical and transcendent (spiritual).

The mood-altering industry is here… already all around us and growing exponentially, as shown by the global CBD market which is expected to rise from $3.7bn in 2021 to $55.8bn in 2028.

Digital stimulation is the next big thing through neurostimulation devices like the Fisher Wallace Stimulator, that promises “quick, safe relief from symptoms of anxiety and depression.” This will be closely followed by the ever-growing trend of micro-dosing psychedelics for improved performance and cognitive function.

THE QUESTION.

Imagine a future where brands can play an active role in consumers daily lives through Moodulation. The FMCG brands that can offer more than a passing moment of refreshment, like providing a natural energy flow of focus, or to calm—even uplift through new active ingredients that provide an experience and emotional connection long after they’ve been consumed.

Or what about the travel brands that can not only transport their consumers from one place to another, but through digital stimulation such as wearables & gaming can take them on a mental and spiritual journey all in the space of a commute home?
